The M24 Le Mans Museum is one of Europe's most iconic motorsport heritage landmarks, spanning 8,600 square meters and housing over a century of Le Mans 24 Hours history. In 2025, the museum embarked on an ambitious 11-month renovation with one core objective: to transform static displays into immersive historical storytelling — letting visitors step not just into a building full of race cars, but into the very paddock of 1970s Le Mans.
The French museum team set exceptionally high standards for figure creation:
Drawing on our proprietary "Visual DNA" hyper-realistic creation methodology, Grand Orient Wax Art seamlessly integrated portrait sculpture, vintage racing car staging, and immersive environmental design. The result: a complete narrative space where "cars have people, and history has context."
Le Mans, late 1960s. Enzo Ferrari stands before the team pit area, wearing his signature sunglasses, his expression as impassive as carved stone. Before him: his scarlet racing machine. Behind him: the weight of Italy's expectations.
Grand Orient Wax Art's reconstruction captures this pivotal moment — Ferrari standing at the dividing line of history, guardian of the old order and architect of a new legend. Standing before this silicone figure, visitors feel not the temperature of a material, but the gravity of an era.
The exhibition's focal point is built around the iconic red-and-white Lotus team transporter. The figure ensemble anchors the historic moment of the team's internal debriefing:
Additional driver figures represent Lotus's full 1970s professional roster, each precisely rendered in authentic pre-race stances — awaiting deployment, discussing tactics, fine-tuning their state — faithfully matching the era's Le Mans grid composition and paddock atmosphere.
Multiple mechanic figures are positioned around the racing cars — one half-lying beneath a Lotus F1 chassis inspecting the underbody, with coverall creases and oil stains under fingernails meticulously reproduced from period references; another tightening wheel nuts with a wrench, spare parts scattered at his feet. These details collectively capture the grueling behind-the-scenes labor of the paddock's technical backbone, making the invisible visible.
Along the periphery, spectators of varying ages in authentic 1970s attire are arranged in natural clusters — some leaning over barriers craning for a view of the pit area, others in small groups murmuring about the race's progression. These lifelike vignettes evoke the electric atmosphere of a Le Mans race day, completing the "track — team — crowd" tripartite narrative structure.
The 23 silicone figures, integrated with vintage racing cars and immersive environmental design, create a powerful visual complement: the cold, hard steel of antique racing machines juxtaposed with the vivid, living presence of the silicone figures. This fills the longstanding gap in traditional automotive museums — "cars without people, history without scene."
The French museum's acceptance team remarked that the historically-grounded figure ensemble had restored a sense of human presence and trackside vitality to the museum's vintage racing collection.
As a rare instance of a Chinese team leading core artistic creation for a century-old European heritage museum, Grand Orient Wax Art earned resounding recognition from French museology experts — a testament to our mature hyper-realistic silicone statue craftsmanship and full-scene integrated delivery capability.
